Due to continued growth, we are looking for an Early Years Quality Manager to work alongside our Quality team.

Job Description

The role carries significant responsibility, including conducting regular nursery visits, implementing strategic initiatives, and contributing to the delivery of outstanding care and education that meets the needs of children and families. As a Quality Manager, you will be expected to inspire and motivate teams across multiple sites, bringing a strong knowledge of Ofsted standards and the Early Years Inspection Framework in England.

You should have a genuine passion for supporting children's growth and development, using this drive to enhance teaching and learning across all settings. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in leading childcare environments, with a track record of achieving Outstanding or Excellent ratings.

You will play a key role in helping nurseries maintain the highest standards of care and education. The role focuses on developing best practices in teaching and learning, ensuring high-quality environments, and includes direct responsibility for monitoring nursery compliance, as well as hands-on coaching and mentoring of practitioners in their day-to-day practice.

Main Areas of Responsibility

As a Quality Manager, you will play a critical role in driving excellence across our early years settings. You'll be responsible for ensuring high standards of care, education, and compliance, while inspiring and guiding teams to continually improve and innovate.

· Conduct regular nursery visits to observe practice, complete environmental audits, and identify areas for improvement.

· To ensure all compliance, policies and procedures are implemented and adhered to at all times.

· To support teams' knowledge and embed the Future Ready Curriculum and planning processes.

· Provide hands-on coaching, mentoring, and role modelling to support and enhance practitioner performance.

· Ensure Nursery Managers complete internal compliance audits and maintain adherence to the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and all relevant legislation and regulatory requirements.

· Collaborate with Nursery/Deputy/Room Managers to deliver a high-quality service that promotes children's learning, development, and well-being, while meeting all statutory welfare requirements.

· Assist Nursery Managers in creating and implementing strategic plans that align with the organisation's goals on the Quality Improvement plan (QIP).

· Report to the Head of Region to review site visit findings, audit results, and reports to drive continuous improvement across settings.

· Support the onboarding of new nursery sites and managers, embedding them into the organisation's culture and operational standards to accelerate their development.

· Provide operational support to existing sites as needed, including temporary cover during periods of absence.

· Contribute to the performance management of Nursery Managers, ensuring they maintain and deliver the organisation's high standards across all operational areas.

· Clearly define and uphold the statutory welfare standards in line with regulatory guidance.

· Participate in the development and implementation of strategic initiatives to improve quality across all settings.

· Uphold and promote safeguarding policies to ensure the safety and well-being of all children.

· Strive for excellence and support the group Key Performance Indicator to achieve 25% outstanding/Excellent across the portfolio.

· Personnel Requirements

· Strong communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills, with the confidence to present effectively to diverse audiences.

· Collaborative and confident decision maker.

· Proven experience in leading and managing staff teams.

· In-depth knowledge of current legislation relating to children, families, and early years provision.

· Ability to produce high-quality written materials tailored to various audiences.

· Proficient in computer literacy, including word processing and database management.

· A clear commitment to the principles and practice of equal opportunities.

· Resilient and adaptable to change.

Skills and Experience

· Strong knowledge of the EYFS Statutory Framework (England)

· Proven experience in managing multiple childcare settings.

· Hold a Level 3 or higher qualification in childcare or early years education.

· Solid understanding of Health and Safety regulations within early years environments.

· Skilled in developing clear, structured reports and action plans to drive improvements.

· Excellent communication, interpersonal, and training skills.

· Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and inspire teams to deliver high-quality early years provision.

· Capable of maintaining accurate visit records and providing detailed reports to the Head of Regions.

· Experience supporting settings remotely, with some project management capability.

· Able to build and maintain strong professional relationships with local authorities, Ofsted, and parents.
