The Loddon School based in Sherfield-on-Loddon is both a home and school to 28 children who have the most severe and complex learning difficulties and severe autism. Our children live at the school 52 weeks a year - we are a home which provides education, leisure, play and outings.
What the role will entail:
We are recruiting for a catering manager to continue the development of a healthy eating ethos across the school. The successful candidate will have overall responsibility for the operational management of the catering facility.
You will lead and manage our small catering team, in inspiring the young people to actively participate wherever possible in the choice, preparation, and cooking of daily meals, baking and speciality celebrations in relation to food and culture. On a day-to-day basis we will require you to take a lead role in the provision of healthy meals for the children and their large staff team, catering to the young people specific dietary needs. Some of our young people have a self-restrictive diet which will require a flexible and imaginative approach.
This role shall include daily interaction with our young people so previous experience of working in a similar environment would be helpful, although not essential.

Hours:
This is a permanent, full-time position at the school you and you will work 162.5 hours per month on a shift pattern between the hours of 7am-6pm and working one in three weekends.
Salary:
The salary range, £29,601 - £36,680 per annum depending on experience and qualifications.
