About the Role
Are you passionate about DevOps and automation? Do you want to make a meaningful impact in a safety-critical medical device environment? We are seeking an Azure DevOps Plug-In Developer to join our client's team, enabling and optimizing DevOps strategies to improve the quality of medical device software through industry-standard practices and tools.
Key Responsibilities
1. Design, implement, deploy, and maintain Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Deployment (CD) pipelines for medical device software.
2. Develop and optimize internal automation and quality control strategies, including automated builds, testing, and code quality gates.
3. Create and maintain CI/CD infrastructure with a focus on security and maintainability.
4. Design and maintain internal developer tools to automate repetitive tasks and enhance productivity.
5. Manage and optimize internal Application Lifecycle Management tools.
6. Create and customize plug-ins for Azure DevOps.
7. Work as the sole person managing DevOps in the software team.
Required Skills & Experience
1. BSc or equivalent qualification in engineering or computing, or a strong professional portfolio.
2. Experience creating custom plugins within the TFS/Azure DevOps plugin ecosystem.
3. Experience developing front-end UIs using modern frameworks.
4. Experience with webhook servers and microservices using backend web frameworks.
5. Familiarity with self-hosting web applications.
6. Experience using both Windows and Linux as development and server operating systems.
7. Strong knowledge of Unix/Windows shell scripting (e.g., Bash, PowerShell).
8. Experience using GitHub, GitLab, or Azure DevOps, including REST API integration.
9. Understanding of verification/validation in regulated environments, including design reviews, code reviews, and system validation.
10. Knowledge of embedded compilers for C/C++.
11. Experience of creating and modifying Azure DevOps plugins.
Familiarity with:
1. Software version control using Git.
2. Automated software builds.
3. Static analysis.
4. Unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.
5. Experience within a Medical Device environment.
6. Knowledge of containerisation technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
7. Experience with software monorepos.
8. Proficiency in TypeScript.
9. Familiarity with configuration as code (Ansible, Docker Compose).
10. Experience securing applications with SSL.
11. Understanding of OpenEmbedded/Yocto and ARM development environments.
12. Collaborative team player with excellent communication skills.
13. Proactive and driven with a creative approach to problem-solving.
14. Strong time management and ability to work independently.
15. High standard of report writing and ability to interpret technical documentation.
