We are seeking to appoint an experienced Learning Mentor who is a motivated and enthusiastic professional with experience of working in a busy primary school. Parkside Community Foundation Primary School has a friendly and supportive staff ready to welcome you to our school team.
The successful candidate will:
* Be calm
* Enjoy working with children
* Have a high level of education with a minimum of GCSE grade C or above in English and Maths (or equivalent)
* Be able to model good spoken English
* Be flexible and able to multi-task!
A formal 30 minute interview will take place with a panel comprising of members of the Leadership Team. Candidates will also be required to lead a 20-25 minute social skills group, focusing on emotions, for a group of KS2 pupils.
The post is for 32 hours a week (Monday-Friday) and term-time only. The pay scale is Kent Scheme C at £26,956 (FTE), which equates to approximately £19,799 per annum pro rata for this role.
Verification of qualifications will be required before employment can commence, so please do not declare any qualifications unless you can produce the original certificate.
It is an offence to apply for this role if the applicant is barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children.
Shortlisted candidates will be subject to online checks following Keeping Children Safe in Education 2025. The interviewee will also be asked questions relating to the safeguarding of children.
This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service and a check against the ISA Barred List for Children, two satisfactory references and right to work in the UK documentation. All new employees to the school, including those with previous local government service, shall be subject to a 6 month probationary period.
