Salary: £65,000 to £70,000 per annum
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Direct reports: x2 HR Business Partners, Disability Officer.
Location: Harlow, Essex. Easily commutable from London Liverpool Street or Tottenham Hale Station. We offer a free minibus service to/from Harlow Town Train Station as well as free parking and EV charging on site.
About the role:
As the HR Manager, you will lead your team to deliver strategic support on all aspects of people management ensuring that HR is an active partner, trusted advisor and critical friend of leaders across the business. You will be the ‘go-to’ expert ensuring that all policies, practices and decisions are compliant and forward thinking.
As Deputy to the Head of People, you will help shape and deliver the people plan, championing our organisational culture - “Together, we create a respectful, open and inclusive environment where everyone works as a team to make a positive difference”.
What you will be doing:
* You will act as Deputy to the Head of People, representing the HR function in senior forums and assuming responsibility for key projects and decisions.
* You will position HR as a data-driven strategic advisor and a trusted critical friend to leaders, proactively anticipating people-related risks and opportunities while shaping workforce plans, organisational design and change initiatives.
* Take ownership of the People Policy framework by ensuring all policies are up to date, easily accessible, aligned with best practice, and applied consistently throughout the organisation.
* Proactively monitor forthcoming legislative and regulatory developments - such as changes in employment law, right to work requirements, GDPR and UK data protection, family-friendly provisions, equality and discrimination, working time, and holiday pay.
* Take responsibility for overseeing and quality assuring high-risk and complex employee relations cases.
* Foster strong, positive relationships with Exco, Heads and People Managers by providing coaching and constructive challenge to promote high performance, engagement and wellbeing.

* You will take the lead on a portfolio of strategic HR projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope and to the highest quality standards.
Your experience:
* Significant HR leadership experience (e.g., Senior HRBP/HR Manager/Head of HR) in complex, multistakeholder environments.
* Deep and current knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice; proven experience leading complex ER matters end to end.
* Track record of elevating HR to a strategic, trusted partner - shaping people plans, OD/change and culture outcomes.
* Experience leading and developing HRBPs/advisors; setting standards and building capability.
* Strong policy ownership and governance mindset; demonstrable horizon scanning and implementation for legislative change.
* Data confident: able to draw insight from people MI to influence decisions
