Site Manager – Construction / Fit-Out

Our client is a well-established Retail and Commercial Contractor delivering projects across the UK with values of up to £15 million. Due to continued growth, they are currently seeking an experienced Site Manager to oversee construction works on a distribution project based in Gateshead.
This role requires a proactive and organised individual with strong leadership skills who can effectively manage site operations, subcontractors, and health & safety compliance to ensure projects are delivered on time and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities:

Managing day-to-day site operations on a busy construction / fit-out project
*
Coordinating subcontractors and ensuring works are carried out to programme
*
Maintaining and enforcing high standards of health & safety compliance
*
Conducting site inductions, toolbox talks, and safety briefings
*
Monitoring progress and reporting updates to the project team
*
Ensuring work is completed to required quality standards and deadlines
*
Liaising with clients, contractors, and suppliers on site
Requirements:
*
Proven experience as a Site Manager within construction or fit-out projects
*
Valid CSCS Card
*
SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme)
*
First Aid at Work Certificate
*
Asbestos Awareness
*
Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
*
Ability to manage multiple trades and maintain programme deadlines
