We are seeking an experienced and proactive Site Manager to oversee civil engineering projects in Sunderland, ensuring high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency. This role requires a hands-on leader with expertise in Earthworks, Roads & Sewers, and Housing Plotworks up to DPC. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of site operations, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to inspire a workforce to deliver projects on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
Health, Safety, and Compliance
* Promote and maintain a culture of safety on-site, adhering to Health and Safety standards and best practices.
* Conduct regular safety and quality inspections, ensuring compliance with all regulations.
* Hold a minimum of SSSTS, First Aid at Work qualifications, and a relevant CSCS card.
Project Management And Supervision
* Supervise and motivate directly employed teams and subcontractors to achieve project objectives.
* Monitor project progress, prepare valuations, and provide regular updates to senior management.
* Take a proactive approach to day-to-day problem-solving and resolve any site issues promptly.
Technical Oversight
* Oversee and coordinate Earthworks, Roads & Sewers, and Housing Plotworks up to DPC.
* Review and prepare site reports, designs, and drawings to ensure accuracy and alignment with project requirements.
* Conduct take-offs and order materials from supply chains, ensuring timely delivery.
Client And Stakeholder Communication
* Liaise with clients, providing progress updates and maintaining strong working relationships.
* Represent Caddick Civil Engineering at site meetings, ensuring client satisfaction and project alignment.
IT And Reporting
* Use IT tools such as Word, Excel, and project management software to manage reports, schedules, and documentation.
Required Skills And Qualifications
* Proven experience in civil engineering site management, with expertise in Earthworks, Roads & Sewers, and Housing Plotworks.
* Strong understanding of Health and Safety in the construction environment.
* Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and manage a diverse team.
* Proficiency in IT, including Microsoft Word and Excel, with experience in project scheduling tools.
* Ability to plan, prioritize, and organize tasks to meet deadlines effectively.
* A valid SSSTS certification, First Aid at Work qualification, and a relevant CSCS card.
