Full-Time | 39 Hours per Week | £40,000 per annum
A well-established precision engineering manufacturer is seeking an experienced Quality Manager to lead and continuously improve its quality systems across the business.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working closely with production, engineering, and leadership teams to ensure the highest standards of quality, compliance, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities of the Quality Manager
Maintain an effective and compliant Quality Management System across the business
Ensure compliance with Nadcap, AS9100, ISO standards, and applicable customer standards (current and in progress)
Work closely with Inspection and Machine Operators to produce FAIRs
Coordinate laboratory testing for parts requiring external analysis in line with customer requirements
Support Inspection with First-Off and Final Inspection where required
Oversee recast examination samples, including component cutting and preparation
Validate recast samples to ensure freedom from damage and compliance with specifications
Organise recast examinations with approved external laboratories
Review and validate recast examination certificates to ensure accuracy and specification compliance
Raise and manage NCRs, Corrective Actions (CAs), Continuous Improvements (CIs), and associated quality documentation
Maintain all quality-related logs including NCR, CA, CI registers
Carry out internal calibrations in line with procedures and ensure records remain up to date
Oversee external calibration activities in accordance with calibration procedures
Ensure machine maintenance checklists are completed and signed regularly
Maintain the Jig & Fixture Register, ensuring accuracy and currency
Sign off Contract Reviews where required
Inspections, Audits & Reporting
Complete end-of-month quality and maintenance checks, including:
Post-EDM liquid maintenance checks and records
Ultrasonic tank cleaner maintenance documentation
Wire erosion machine conductivity testing
Inspection table light testing (1000 lux requirement)
Compile and maintain monthly and end-of-month performance charts, including:
Internal PPM
Internal Defective PPM
External Defective PPM
Sales Delivery performance
PPM delivered to customer
Organise, maintain, and participate in quarterly Management Reviews with senior management
Documentation & Procedures
Maintain an up-to-date log of customer standards and specifications
Ensure all quality documentation is complete, accurate, legible, and compliant with procedures
Sign and stamp documentation where required
Ensure all paperwork (digital and physical) is stored correctly in line with document control procedures
Follow all documented procedures relating to forms, logs, and quality records
Identify training needs and notify appropriate personnel when procedures or documentation are not fully understood
Highlight and report any errors found within quality documentation
General Responsibilities of a Quality Manager
Maintain a tidy and organised work area, ensuring tools, equipment, jigs, and fixtures are returned to designated locations
Dispose of packaging and consumables appropriately
Take responsibility for equipment assigned
Work safely at all times, using appropriate PPE and safe handling practices
Actively contribute to continuous improvement, identifying and suggesting improvements across quality and operations
Additional Information
Hours: 39 hours per week
Salary: £40,000 per annum
Travel: Fortnightly travel to a Gloucestershire site will be required
