Fire Door Site Manager

We seeking a Fire Door Site Manager skilled to oversee both new installations and remediation fire door projects. This is a site-based role, ideally suited to someone living within one hour of Mansfield (NG18), with flexibility to travel outside the area when required (all accommodation and expenses are fully covered).
You will lead on-site operations, manage project compliance, health and safety, coordinate joinery teams, and maintain the highest standards of quality. If you bring fire-stopping experience within the carpentry sector and thrive in fast-paced, hands-on environments, we’d like to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct fire door surveys, collate floor plans, and manage door referencing.
Create door work schedules and manage procurement/requisition of materials.
Obtain and review fire door test data and ensure compliance with BS8214.
Ensure all works meet FIRAS accreditation standards.
Review client door data against the company survey data with QS collaboration.
Prepare Health & Safety documentation including Construction Phase Plans and Method Statements.
Ensure all asbestos risks are identified and mitigated.
Liaise with residents where property access is required.
Raise technical queries and manage non-compliances (RFIs).
Manage internal joinery teams and sub-contractors (e.g. decorators).
Define and maintain benchmark quality standards with the client/site team.
Attend pre-start meetings and allocate responsibilities and deadlines.
Implement and uphold the company Quality Plans on all projects.
Maintain accurate records via BORIS system and WhatsApp project updates.
Conduct regular quality audits and support less experienced Site Managers.
Train and develop Site Managers in door installation management.
Track production progress (Planned vs. Actual) and adjust labour accordingly.
Ensure projects remain within commercial and financial plans.
Conduct pre-completion inspections and present only snag-free, completed works to the client.
Report daily to the Contracts Manager.
✅ Requirements:
Strong background in joinery/carpentry with fire-proofing/fire-stopping experience.
Site management qualifications: SMSTS (valid), First Aid, CSCS Gold (Supervisor level).
Proven ability to lead site teams and manage compliance, documentation, and quality standards.
Must be located within 1 hour of Mansfield (NG18).
Willingness to travel outside your area on occasion (accommodation provided).
Excellent communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills.
