Data Architect – AbInitio & Dataernance (Contract | Inside IR35) Farnborough, Hampshire | Hybrid (2 days on site: Tuesday & Wednesday) Rolling contract | Inside IR35 £500–£550 per day Financial Services organisation
I’m currently looking for an experienced Data Architect with strong AbInitio expertise to join a highly successful and innovative Data Department within a Financial Services organisation based in Farnborough.
This is a rolling contract opportunity where you’ll play a key role inerning enterprise data, with AbInitio as a core technology, shaping architecture standards and enabling well‑controlled, high‑quality data products in a regulated environment.Once settled in, you’ll be on site two days per week (Tuesday and Wednesday), so you must live within two hours of Hampshire.
What this role isYou will be working at the heart of dataernance and architecture, with responsibility for:
1. Designing, building and evolving enterprise data architecture aligned to a wider data strategy
2. Using AbInitio as a core dataernance and integration tool, particularly in regulated environments
3. Supporting the build of wellerned, self‑service data products
4. Defining and implementing dataernance tooling, including lineage, metadata and master data management
5. Designing and overseeing ETL / ELT processes, embedding data quality, validation and controls
6. Working closely with stakeholders across technology and the business to ensure data is trusted,pliant and auditable
7. Leading architectural standards, best practice and documentation within a Financial Services environment
This is a hands‑on, technical role, not a purely strategic or advisory position.What this role is not
8. Not a pure data engineering role
9. Not a reporting or BI‑only position
10. Not a cloud‑only greenfield build with noernance
11. Not suitable without AbInitio experience
12. Not suitable if your background is outside Financial or Regulatory environments
What you need to bringYou muste from a Financial Services or Regulatory background, and AbInitio experience is essential.Your CV must clearly evidence:
13. Hands‑on AbInitio experience, particularly supporting dataernance and regulated data flows
14. Strong Data Architecture experience (5+ years preferred)
15. Proven technical experienceerning enterprise data
16. Enterprise data modelling (ERD, dimensional, data warehouse)
17. AWS data platforms and services ( S3, Glue, Athena, Lambda)
18. Dataernance capabilities including: Data lineageMetadata managementMaster Data Management
19. Strong SQL and Python
20. Designing and overseeing ETL / ELT pipelines
21. Clear examples of achievements and tangible results
