This position is for the Child and Youth Program Flight at RAF Lakenheath, UK.
This position requires shift work to provide coverage on days, evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations. Scheduled hours will be 0-40 per week with no minimum guarantee.
Performs a full range of cooking task that adheres to AF and USDA child food codes. Performs duties which include, but are not limited to, the following: roasts, broils, bakes, steams and stews meats, fish and poultry. Follows USDA, DoD regulations/instructions and local guidance for menu planning, food preparation, food storage, kitchen sanitation and cleanliness. Conducts and documents health and sanitation inspections. Responsible for food program inventory control, ordering and payments. Prepares food program budget for management approval. Cleans and maintains all kitchen equipment, work areas and utensils after each use. If interested in this position please preview the online application:
Must be able to obtain a Food Handler's Certificate and/or complete food handler's training.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., religious; community; student; Must have experience in and knowledge of food preparation principles and characteristics of food, and of planning processes to ensure entire meals are prepared and cooked on time. Must be able to perform yield testing to determine portion cost and to adjust ingredients in standardized recipes. Must have knowledge of procedures to order, issue and store food. Experience and knowledge must have been gained in a grill, snack bar, restaurant, club or similar food activity.
Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
Territory for three (3) or more consecutive years immediately preceding the start of Federal affiliation.
Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs not authorized based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest.
Post Allowance is authorized for Regular Full Time employment category.
