Site Manager – Residential & Commercial Developments | Peterborough | Full Time | Working hours are
Monday to Friday, 7:30 am –5:00 pm, with some flexibility and potential for hybrid working when not on site

Established over 25 years ago, our client is a multi-disciplinary building and civil engineering contractor delivering a wide range of projects across East Anglia and the East Midlands..
Due to continued growth and the award of several new projects, they're delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for an experienced Site Manager to take the lead on a new residential development in the heart of Peterborough. The project comprises 12 one-bedroom apartments and 4 one-bedroom bungalows, offering variety and challenge in equal measure.
You'll be joining a small, dedicated, and hands-on team, taking full responsibility for the day-to-day management and successful delivery of this busy site..
Are you the right person for the job?
A minimum of 3 years' experience managing building or fit-out projects
Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills
A keen eye for detail and a commitment to high standards
SMSTS (or equivalent) certification
A valid CSCS card
First Aid training
Scaffold inspection certification (advantageous but not essential)
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
IT literacy – experience with Multibuilder or similar software is desirable
A full, clean UK driving licence
What will your role look like?
Taking overall responsibility for the day-to-day running of a busy construction site
Managing and supervising direct labour and subcontract trades
Monitoring and updating the project programme to ensure key milestones are met
Ensuring Health & Safety compliance, including producing and reviewing:
Risk assessments
Method statements
Traffic management plans
Construction Phase Health & Safety Plans (CPHSP)
Reviewing and approving subcontractor RAMS
Liaising with architects, structural engineers, MEP specialists, and building control
Managing materials – call-offs, reconciliation, and minimising waste or damage
Completing plant and goods returns on a weekly basis
Reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications
Chairing weekly site and coordination meetings
Maintaining accurate records for inspection, sign-off, and final handover
This is a hands-on role where you'll lead a small on-site team (around 10 people) and ensure that all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
