An established, privately owned group employing around 120 people across multiple entities has created this new role as part of its ongoing development. This is an opportunity to move the people function from a traditional, compliance-focused model to a modern, value-adding People & Culture approach. Working closely with the Managing Director and senior leadership team, you will take ownership of all people-related activity across the group, combining strategic leadership with hands-on delivery. The role covers the full employee lifecycle and plays a key part in building a positive, inclusive and high-performing workplace culture. The Job Develop and deliver a people and culture strategy aligned to overall business objectives Work closely with the Managing Director on people-related decisions and organisational planning Plan workforce requirements to support business growth and operational needs Lead recruitment, onboarding and induction processes across the group Advise and support managers on employee relations matters, including complex and sensitive issues Manage investigations, disciplinary and grievance processes in line with best practice and employment law Promote a positive, inclusive and engaged workplace culture Support leadership development and succession planning Design and deliver learning, development, coaching and mentoring initiatives Ensure compliance with employment legislation, internal policies and procedures Maintain and develop HR policies, processes and documentation Oversee HR systems and provide support to payroll processes Drive improvements in HR systems and digital ways of working Provide day-to-day HR support and respond to employee queries across the organisation The Person Proven experience in a HR or People leadership role Practical working knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice Experience managing employee relations issues and complex HR cases Experience leading recruitment and workforce planning activity Exposure to learning and development, leadership development and succession planning Experience operating in a multi-site or multi-company environment is desirable Experience of implementing or improving HR systems and processes If you are interested in this opportunity, then please send your CV in the first instance, or if you would like confidential discussion, then please do not hesitate to contact us.
