Job Title: Nursery Cook

8am to 4:00pm Monday to Friday
Job Purpose
The role of the Nursery Cook will be working as part of the nursery team, producing healthy, balanced meals for the children aged 6 weeks to 4 years old on a daily basis. The Nursery Cook will need to respect and uphold the management of the nursery kitchen, organising, preparing and delivering nursery meals in accordance with the nursery menus, healthy eating policies and all individual dietary requirements of the children.
Main Duties
* Responsible for the professional planning and preparation of food to provide nutritional meals in accordance with Aristo-Tots menus and Healthy Eating policy
* Ensure that all individual dietary requirements are catered for in line with parental guidance and Aristo-Tots policy
* To ensure that the highest standard of health and safety apply to both children, staff, parents and visitors, maintaining a safe and secure environment
* Ensure that the hygiene and cleanliness within the kitchen is of the highest standard in accordance with the Environmental Health requirements and legislation, including the “Safer Food Better Business Guide” this includes cleaning and washing up duties
* Maintain necessary kitchen procedures and records in accordance with Aristo-Tots and the Environmental Health policies and processes including “Safer Food Better Business Guide”
* Responsible for control, storage and rotation of all kitchen stock
* Preparing a list of groceries required by the nursery management to order groceries on line, within the nursery budget and necessary for the use of Aristo-Tots meals and kitchen requirements.
* To appropriately store and pack groceries delivered to Aristo-Tots
* To contribute to team efforts of the nursery and attend staff meetings and social events when required
* To undertake future and refresher training as appropriate
* Liaise with nursery management on the ordering of necessary kitchen equipment
* Undertake any other reasonable catering duties as requested by Aristo-Tots management
* To report anything of significance to the nursery management
* Communicate effectively with nursery staff and management to professionally plan and prepare healthy balanced nursery meals
