The role involves preparing and cooking nutritious meals and snacks for service users and staff, while ensuring the highest standards of hygiene and food safety are maintained. This is a temporary assignment covering from 6th October 2025 to 9th January 2026. Key Responsibilities: Prepare, cook, and serve balanced meals and snacks to meet a variety of dietary needs. Plan menus and adapt meals for service users with specific requirements. Order food, receive deliveries, and maintain accurate stock control. Ensure food is stored, handled, and prepared in line with food safety legislation. Maintain cleanliness of kitchen, equipment, and storage areas. Support and guide trainees on placement within the kitchen. Comply with Health & Safety, hygiene, and policies at all times. What the client is looking for: NVQ in food preparation/cooking or equivalent experience. Food Safety Level 2 certification. Experience in catering and knowledge of food hygiene legislation. Strong organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to support individuals with learning disabilities in a kitchen environment. Flexibility to work across other centres if required. Enhanced DBS with Adult’s Barred List Check (essential). What the client offers: A supportive working environment within adult services.
