Our core business activities are teaching and learning, widening access to education, research and innovation, and technology and knowledge transfer. - THE ROLE - The International Student Advisory Service (ISAS) plays a key role in enhancing the international student experience at Ulster University. The team provides expert advice and tailored support to international students, helps the University meet its compliance responsibilities under the Home Office student immigration regulations, and contributes to wider internationalisation and student mobility efforts. Working in close partnership with academic faculties, professional services, and student support teams, ISAS ensures that international students feel supported and that they receive expert and accurate advice from pre-arrival through to graduation. The International Student Advisory Assistant will provide essential administrative and pastoral support across a range of ISAS activities. This includes, but is not limited to, providing specialist visa and immigration guidance, coordinating student communications, and helping to deliver on-campus events. The postholder will contribute to a supportive, inclusive, and engaging environment, ensuring that both newly arrived and current international students experience a supportive, inclusive, and world-class student journey throughout their time at Ulster University. - ABOUT YOU - - A good standard of numeracy and literacy as demonstrated by qualifications at GCSE grade ‘C’ or higher (or equivalent) or by relevant work experience. - Experience and proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint, and PowerPoint, as well as digital systems and social media platforms. - Experience of developing basic content for social media platforms to support communication and engagement initiatives. - Experience in providing pastoral support to individuals from diverse communities and a variety of cultural, ethnic, or linguistic backgrounds. - Experience in service support capacity, including the development and delivery of events, and maintaining related records.
