About Shaftesbury Statement
Shaftesbury is a disability charity offering care, education, vocational and rehab services. The charity also provides residential care, nursing and supported living.
Within the education sector, Shaftesbury has one school, Shaftesbury Victoria School, and 2 further education colleges, Shaftesbury Millie College and Shaftesbury Nash College. The school is for students aged 3-19, and the colleges are for students aged 16-25. All students have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), as well as physical and/or intellectual disabilities, and some have profound and complex learning needs.
About the Role
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced site manager who is willing to develop and improve a very special SEN college and to build and professionally manage an onsite maintenance, cleaning, catering and transport teams, who will strive to improve all aspects of the students experience while in education.
You will be responsible for maintaining exceptional standards of health and safety, compliance and maintenance around the campus. Fostering a culture of safety and excellence in order to support meaningful learning experiences for students with special needs.
This is an exciting opportunity to work with a variety of disciplines within the college grounds and buildings and to be a vital part of the college management. Taking an active part in improving the environment and making a difference to our students at this excellent special education needs setting.
The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, self-motivated, and empathetic, with a genuine passion for improving the school’s environment. You will need a calm and adaptable approach, excellent self-motivating and problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. Flexibility and commitment are essential, as you will be part of a well-developed senior leadership team, ensuring smooth and consistent operations across the provision.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities include managing all maintenance, cleaners, catering and transport staff. Managing all capital and operational budgets relating to this role, planning and compiling capital budgets on a five-year rolling program, Working within the remits of reactive, proactive and planned maintenance programs. Recording compliance and keeping accurate records of the checks for Legionella, fire safety and routine alarms. Then being able to understand and take the necessary action to rectify and compliance failures. The role also involves ensuring compliance with licensing regulations, managing inspections and audits. Managing all contractors that attend site and making sure we have high standard of workmanship and value for money on all works tendered.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
* Enthusiastic, self-motivated, and empathetic individuals with a genuine passion for improving the colleges environment.
* Calm and adaptable approach, able to follow instruction and manage multiple priorities.
* Experience working in management position within an education setting or large site / Building
* Commitment to safety, compliance, and quality workmanship
* To have a trade background and at least one qualification in building related skill.
* A desire in the delivery of high-quality workmanship at all times,
