Location: Cardiff Salary: £45,000 – £50,000The RoleWe are seeking an experienced Environmental & Sustainability Coordinator to join a leading construction business in Cardiff. This role will have a strong BREEAM focus, supporting the successful delivery of sustainability targets across major construction projects.You will play a key role in coordinating the main contractor’s BREEAM delivery, ensuringpliance with project requirements and contributing to the achievement of high BREEAM ratings.Key Responsibilities
1. Coordinate and manage BREEAM delivery on behalf of the main contractor across the project life cycle.
2. Work closely with BREEAM requirements and project teams to ensure all credits are understood and actioned.
3. Track and monitor BREEAM credits, identifying risks and opportunities to maximise project scores.
4. Maintain auditable records and structured evidence files to support certification
5. Liaise with BREEAM assessors, consultants, and site teams to ensure alignment andpliance.
6. Support the implementation of environmental and sustainability strategies on-site
7. Conduct regular site inspections to ensure environmental controls are being followed
8. Assist in reporting sustainability performance and progress against project targets
About YouYou will have a strong understanding of sustainability within construction, with hands-on experience working with BREEAM frameworks.Essential:
9. Experience in an Environmental / Sustainability role within construction
10. Solid understanding of BREEAM processes and requirements
11. Experience in tracking credits and managing evidence submissions
12. Strong organisational skills with the ability to maintain structured documentation
13. Excellentmunication skills and ability to work with site teams and stakeholders
Desirable:
14. BREEAM Accredited Professional (AP)
15. Experience contributing to higher rating BREEAM schemes ( Excellent / Outstanding)
16. Familiarity with wider sustainability initiatives (carbon, waste, energy)
