Site Manager (Children’s Residential Unit) – Mansfield Hours: 5 hours per day, 8:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. (including a ½ hour unpaid lunch break) Pay Rate: £13.26 per hour Contract: Temporary position – may be extended for the right candidate Location: Children’s Residential Unit, Mansfield Reports to: Property Services Purpose of the Role To manage the residential site on behalf of Property Services, ensuring that the premises are safe, compliant, and well-maintained. The postholder will work closely with the residential team to support a safe and comfortable environment for children and staff. Main Duties and Responsibilities * Work collaboratively with the residential team to maintain a safe and secure environment. * Carry out and/or coordinate minor repairs and maintenance tasks across the site. * Monitor and ensure that all statutory building compliance checks (e.g., fire safety, water hygiene, electrical testing) are completed and recorded accurately. * Liaise with contractors and Property Services for larger maintenance or repair work. * Conduct regular site inspections to identify and report potential hazards or maintenance needs. * Ensure all equipment and facilities are in good working order. * Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, compliance checks, and inspections. * Support the residential team in promoting a safe, positive environment for children and staff. Person Specification Essential: * Basic maintenance and repair skills (e.g., plumbing, joinery, decorating). * Understanding of health and safety requirements in a residential or educational setting. * Good communication and organisational skills. * Ability to work independently and use initiative. * Reliable, practical, and proactive approach. * Enhanced DBS check required (must be in place or willing to obtain before starting). Desirable: * Experience working in a care, residential, or school environment. * Knowledge of building compliance and statutory maintenance requirements
