Overview
Join Sodexo as a Cook at our multi-site locations: Westgate – 190-196 Westgate, Wakefield, WF2 9RF; Albion Street – 30 Albion Street, Dewsbury, WF13 2AJ. This is an essential lone-working role responsible for preparing and cooking high-quality meals for residents and staff in a fixed location, ensuring safe, nutritious, and welcoming environments. Age restriction applies: candidates must be over 18 and able to provide valid Photographic ID. Approved Premises play a key role in supporting individuals released from prison, offering enhanced supervision and rehabilitation within the community.
Responsibilities
* Independently prepare and cook a variety of meals according to scheduled menus for residents and staff.
* Manage your own schedule and kitchen operations, ensuring meals are prepared and served on time with minimal supervision.
* Maintain high standards of food safety, cleanliness, and hygiene in all areas, including the kitchen and dining spaces.
* Restock essential kitchen supplies like ingredients, utensils, and cleaning products.
* Communicate with site staff and other departments as needed, providing updates and ensuring smooth operations.
* Adhere to health and safety protocols at all times, ensuring compliance while working alone.
What You Bring
* Previous experience in a cooking or catering role is essential, along with a reasonable knowledge of food safety and kitchen procedures.
* Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to work independently.
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage time and tasks efficiently while working alone.
* The ability to remain self-motivated and proactive when working without direct supervision.
* A positive, independent, and team-oriented attitude, with a willingness to follow direction when needed.
