Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Solar PV Site Manager to oversee construction projects from inception to completion. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating all site activities, ensuring project deadlines are met, and maintaining safety standards, with experience producing and reviewing risk assessment and method statements, technical competence with commercial solar PV systems, and inspection and reporting. You would also possess surveying skills, be computer literate, and have excellent communication skills with clients, contractors, and team members. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a proactive leader to manage sub contractors effectively and deliver high-quality results on time and within budget.
The candidate should be willing to work away 2-4 days per week, be able to work independently and as part of a team and have a professional demeanour.
Duties
* Plan, coordinate, and supervise daily site operations to ensure smooth workflow and adherence to project timelines.
* Manage and oversee subcontractors, suppliers, and on-site personnel, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
* Monitor health and safety compliance across the site, implementing procedures to minimise risks.
* Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality standards are maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
* Prepare progress reports and communicate updates to senior management and clients.
* Manage procurement activities, including ordering materials and equipment necessary for ongoing works.
* Resolve any issues or delays promptly to prevent project setbacks.
Requirements
* Proven management experience within the construction or infrastructure sector, with a strong track record of supervising teams effectively.
* Produce risk assessment and method statements
* Demonstrable leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and foster a collaborative working environment.
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently under pressure.
* Strong understanding of health and safety regulations relevant to construction sites.
* Good communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to liaise confidently with clients, contractors, and team members.
* Relevant qualifications in construction management (SMSTS).
