Role overview
An opportunity has arisen for a Drug and Alcohol Recovery Nurse (either RMN or RGN) to work within the Drug and Alcohol Recovery Service in Nairn and the wider Drug and Alcohol Service in Highland. The post involves working with the Drug and Alcohol Recovery Service and maintaining strong links with Community Mental Health Teams and the wider multidisciplinary team.
You should possess sound clinical knowledge and a wide range of clinical skills, including the ability to offer interventions, harm reduction advice and deliver safe, effective care to a diverse client population. You will be required to carry out assessments, develop and implement treatment plans, and you will be expected to offer supervision and support to junior staff within the team. This post requires you to work as part of the wider multidisciplinary team and as an autonomous practitioner.
Preferred candidates will either be already qualified and registered with the NMC as a non-medical prescriber or be willing to undertake this training on appointment. Significant post-registration experience and relevant experience in the Drug and Alcohol field are required. A full current driving licence and use of a car for work purposes is essential.
