The role of casual cook is to run the kitchen in absence of the cook, primarily during their annual leave. The cook plays an integral role in the running of the nursery, providing children with a nutritious and balanced diet, paying special attention to allergies and preferences.
Responsibilities
* To provide children with a nutritious, balanced and varied diet.
* To follow all menus provided by Rascals.
* To ensure the kitchen is clean and at a high level of hygiene.
* To be aware of all special requirements and allergies of children within Rascals and be responsible for catering for their individual needs.
* To follow the roles and responsibilities and professional conduct set out by the nursery.
Skills and Qualifications
* Level 2 Food Hygiene and Safety for Catering.
* A good level of understanding in nutritional values of food.
* Experience working in a kitchen setting.
* Knowledge of operational practice in use of HACCP and COSHH.
* Experience in catering for large numbers of children.
Further Information
Work Time: Hours are on a casual basis but can be Monday to Friday between the hours of 8am and 2pm.
