We are currently seeking a dependable, experienced and proactive Site Manager to join a well-regarded secondary school in Oxford. About the Role As the Site Manager, you will be responsible for the overall management, maintenance and safety of the school site and facilities. Key responsibilities include: • Overseeing all aspects of site maintenance, repairs and compliance • Managing a small team of caretakers and cleaning staff • Ensuring all areas of the school meet health & safety regulations and statutory requirements • Conducting regular checks including fire safety, security and maintenance schedules • Liaising with contractors and external agencies, ensuring safeguarding procedures are followed • Managing the school’s maintenance budget and monitoring stock of materials • Overseeing security of the site, including opening and locking routines • Supporting school events, room setups and operational activities • Ensuring grounds, buildings and facilities are maintained to a high standard This is a hands-on role that requires excellent organisational skills, strong communication and the ability to prioritise effectively in a busy school environment. Experience and Qualifications • Previous experience as a Site Manager, Caretaker or Facilities Manager (school experience desirable but not essential) • Strong practical and maintenance skills • Sound knowledge of health & safety legislation and statutory compliance • Experience managing staff or contractors • Excellent organisational, communication and problem-solving skills • Ability to work flexibly and respond promptly to site-related needs • Must hold or be willing to undergo an enhanced DBS check Salary Paid according to experience and in line with local support staff pay scales.
