Residential Care Home Cook
Shift Pattern: Part‑Time, 18 hours per week including mornings, evenings and weekends.
Salary: £25,989‑£27,254 Pro‑Rata (Pay Award Pending).
Location: The Beacon Children's Centre, Grantham.
Closing Date: 02nd July 2026.
About the Role
Your role as a Cook will be essential in creating a safe, nurturing, and homely environment for the children and staff at The Beacon. This includes preparing safe, nutritious, balanced meals, planning weekly menus, overseeing food ordering and stock management, maintaining accurate records, and consistently following food hygiene standards. You will ensure meals are varied, freshly made and tailored to a range of dietary requirements, uphold high standards of food hygiene, allergen management, and kitchen safety, and help foster a warm, welcoming dining experience.
Responsibilities
* Plan and prepare weekly menus for staff and children, ensuring variety and nutritional balance.
* Prepare safe, nutritious and healthy meals for children and staff.
* Oversee food ordering, stock management and maintain kitchen supplies.
* Keep accurate records of food preparation, hygiene checks and inventory.
* Ensure compliance with food hygiene standards and allergen management.
* Maintain a safe and well‑organised kitchen environment.
* Provide a warm, welcoming dining experience that feels like home.
