About the role:
The Safeguarding Manager leads the delivery of high-quality safeguarding practice, ensuring children are protected and supported effectively. The role provides reflective supervision and performance management to Independent Reviewing Officers / Child Protection Chairs and ensures that escalation processes are effectively utilised. The Safeguarding Manager acts as a designated officer for section 5 position of trust
processes following the Wales safeguarding Procedures as well as supporting the management of risk through multi-agency meetings.

• Strong leadership and ability to support, challenge and develop staff
• Excellent safeguarding knowledge, including complex and high-risk situations
• Skilled in reflective supervision and performance management
• Effective communication and partnership working across agencies
• Analytical thinking to review practice, data, and improve outcomes
• Passion for protecting children, promoting their voice, and achieving positive, lasting change
What you will do:
Ensure the voices of children are heard and that their lived experience is understood Manage allegations against those in a position of trust in a fair, timely and consistent way
Provide reflective supervision and performance management to ensure high-quality practice of the Reviewing Service
Support the management of high risk people through contributing to MAPPA meetings
Contribute to Quality Assurance auditing work to promote a learning culture and continuous improvement across the service
