Job Overview: The Cook uses their knowledge and experience in food production to ensure the proper, timely, and safe preparation and service of food according to established recipes, while adhering to all food safety and sanitation requirements and maintaining a safe and orderly kitchen. Responsible for effectively managing all food production in the absence of the Dining Services Coordinator.
Responsibilities & Qualifications: This is a temporary position with a duration of 3 months. Extended benefits include a matching 3% RRSP. As a part of the Sunrise team, supporting our Mission, Principles of Service, and Core Values is fundamental. Responsibilities include ensuring high standards for food taste and quality, preparing and serving meals, utilizing production sheets, preparing dietary modifications, using Sunrise systems, stock management, maintaining cleanliness, equipment maintenance, safety compliance, performing additional Dining Services duties, and supporting team engagement and training.
Qualifications: Candidates should have at least 1 year of food preparation experience, a High School Diploma/GED, and relevant certifications such as CPR, First Aid, ServSafe Manager, and Food Handler Card. Prior culinary training is a plus. Skills required include effective communication, organization, judgment, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities.
