Role Overview
We are seeking a Data Architect to work within our customer, product, and people data domains. The Data Architect will design, create, and manage AVEVA’s data architecture, ensuring data is organized, accessible, secure, and aligned with business objectives. Responsibilities include designing data warehouses, file systems, databases, and defining data collection and organization methods through master data management.
Responsibilities
1. Interpret and deliver strategic plans to improve data integration, quality, and delivery supporting business initiatives.
2. Design the structure and layout of data systems, including databases, warehouses, master data management, and lakes.
3. Select and implement database management systems, define data schemas, optimize storage, and establish access controls and security measures.
4. Define and implement long-term technology strategies and innovation roadmaps across analytics, data engineering, and data platforms.
5. Design and implement ETL processes from various sources into data systems.
6. Translate business requirements into data models, metadata, test data, and data quality standards.
7. Manage stakeholder engagement to ensure project alignment with strategic roadmaps.
8. Simplify existing data architecture, deliver reusable services, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
9. Lead and participate in peer reviews and quality assurance of architectural artifacts.
10. Establish and manage standards, guidelines, and processes for data quality.
11. Collaborate with IT, analysts, and data teams to develop solutions based on their needs.
12. Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies for data management and analytics.
Skills and Qualifications
* Minimum five years of experience in data modeling and enterprise data initiatives.
* Experience leading data modeling, design, and analysis projects.
* Design experience with Azure Fabric, Synapse, Power BI/Tableau.
* Experience with Informatica Customer 360, Product 360, and Reference Data Management.
* Proficiency in programming languages and data science tools such as SQL, R, Excel.
* Knowledge of modern data architectures, cloud services, real-time data distribution, and data tools.
* Experience with SQL, NoSQL, Oracle databases.
* Understanding of entity-relationship modeling, metadata, and data quality tools.
* Strategic thinking to align architecture with business needs.
* Experience with BI tools and technologies like ETL, Power BI, Tableau.
* Ability to learn and adopt new technologies, especially in ML/AI.
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
* Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and guide solution design.
