Overview
The site manager will be adept at on-site management of client interfaces, contractors, approval of risk assessments and method statements, problem solving and negotiating problems and implementing the Galliford Try business management systems. A confident individual to take full responsibility for production functions on security projects of typical value between £1m-£8m that are allocated from award through to completion and to maintain and maximise quality of service and profitability.
Responsibilities
* Ensuring that the necessary security of the works is, and its details are not compromised at any time to ensure that the reputation of Galliford Try is always maintained to the highest level.
* Issuing and controlling permits to work and implementing safe working practices with a zero-harm culture.
* Surveying and investigation activities.
* General civil engineering and construction experience.
* Perimeter fencing systems.
* Installation of drainage and ducting systems.
* Reinforced concrete bases and bays.
* General excavation works.
* Location of utilities and safe digging techniques and practices.
* Working around existing utilities and services using the correct and best practices to undertake the works safely.
* Ground investigation works and permitary.
* Integrated security management solutions.
* Excellent communication skills with team members and client representatives.
* Understand the importance of working with and compliance with a business management system.
* Strong understanding of NEC contracts and keeping accurate site records and raising issues to the commercial management team via records and the Early Warning process while providing strong communication with senior management teams.
* Willing to travel and be flexible to deliver and support the works. Some work locations may require staying away from home with full recompense.
About you
* Experienced within the construction industry and knowledge of the relevant security standards.
* Hold or achieve security clearance to SC level as a minimum.
* Previous experience on MOD projects would be preferable but not essential.
* Willing to work within the Galliford Try environment and uphold the company values and professional standards.
