Set in the beautiful Shropshire countryside, our 3,800-acres of fields are home to a variety of salad crops. This role will be based within Bfresh, located on our Staffordshire farm at PDM. Bfresh is a cold-pressed juice operation, producing fresh, all-natural juices, smoothies, and shots from our on-farm juicery. Using the very best leafy greens and ingredients, we are proud to create products that are as natural as they are nutritious.

Reporting to the Technical Director the role has full technical responsibility and autonomy for B. fresh. This will involve implementing technical, quality and compliance systems / processes to ensure the highest Food Safety & Quality is achieved. To ensure implementation of these robust technical procedures, you will need to be comfortable with being hands on in the factory and have the ability, vision and drive to understand how to create the most effective and efficient ways of working.

Bfresh is a family business and people are at the heart of what we do. You will drive a culture of food safety and quality, working closely with all other departments whist developing and coaching team members across the business.

Key Responsibilities

· On-site Quality Assurance, from incoming raw materials to finished product.

· The development and continuous improvement and implementation of all sections of BRC and HACCP to ensure we retain AA grade.

· Lead and manage factory inspections to ensure GMP is developed by cross functional teamwork.

· Ensure all employees on site understand the importance of following the Food Safety and Quality Systems.

· Ensure all micro/chemical and nutritional testing is completed as per schedule.

· Monitor departmental KPI's and challenge where required to ensure targets are achieved and improved.

· Lead BRC and relevant customer site visits and audits.

· Management of Non-conformance and hold procedure ensuring effective close out.

· Product release.

· Management of Complaint investigation ensuring root cause analysis is carried out.

· HACCP team Leader.

· Work with Managers to understand the training needs of their team in-line with BRC and customer requirements.

· Assisting NPD with Technical support

· Attend the weekly meeting to represent the technical function and communicate performance and highlight areas for improvement.

· Actively manage shelf life to ensure the customer receives the maximum shelf life where shelf-life data allows.

· Working closely with the commercial team to ensure customer communications are aligned.

· Carry out monthly finished hygiene audits.

· Undertake any other ad hoc duties which may be required from time to time.

Person Specification

· Proven Quality Management experience in a food manufacturing environment that supplies the UK's retailers and Brand.

· Experience in BRC and QMS.

· Experienced dealing with audits, visits and EHO.

· Can demonstrate a proven track record in improving Food Quality and Food Safety.

· Excellent people management skills

· Have a 'can-do' attitude

· Be customer focused

· Be commercially aware

· HACCP level 3 minimum – level 4 desirable

· Internal auditing

· Sound knowledge of BRC
