Daniel Owen are recruiting a Site Manager to join a growing construction and fit-out contractor delivering small - medium, high-quality projects across multiple sectors. With a strong reputation for professionalism, quality delivery, and collaborative working, the business continues to expand its project portfolio and is now seeking an experienced Site Manager to strengthen its operational team.

Location: Birmingham (Sites can be national)
Salary: £250.00 - £270.00 per day + Package
Contract Type: Temporary - Permanent
Start date: 23rd February
Role Overview
The Site Manager will be responsible for the effective day-to-day management of construction sites, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The role requires strong leadership, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to coordinate multiple trades and stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes.
You will play a key role in maintaining site standards, driving performance, and representing the business professionally with clients, consultants, and supply chain partners.
Key Responsibilities
1. Full responsibility for site operations from project commencement through to completion
2. Planning, coordinating, and supervising all on-site activities
3. Ensuring full compliance with Health & Safety legislation, company policies, and site-specific procedures
4. Managing subcontractors and direct labour to ensure productivity, quality, and programme targets are achieved
5. Monitoring progress against the construction programme and implementing corrective actions where required
6. Conducting site inductions, toolbox talks, safety briefings, and regular inspections
7. Ensuring works are delivered in accordance with drawings, specifications, and contractual requirements
8. Maintaining high standards of quality control, workmanship, and site presentation
9. Managing site logistics, materials procurement, and plant requirements
10. Liaising effectively with clients, consultants, suppliers, and internal project teams
11. Producing accurate site records, reports, and progress updates
12. Managing snagging, handover, and final completion processes
13. Promoting a positive health, safety, and environmental culture on site
Candidate Requirements
14. Proven experience in a Site Manager role within construction and/or fit-out
15. Strong technical knowledge of construction methods, sequencing, and site operations
16. Excellent understanding of Health & Safety legislation and best practice
17. Demonstrable experience managing subcontractors and multiple trades
18. Strong leadership, organisational, and problem-solving skills
19. Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
20. Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities
21. Proactive, professional, and solutions-focused approach

22. SMSTS - Essential
23. CSCS Card - Black or Gold preferred
24. First Aid at Work - Essential
25. Asbestos Awareness
26. Relevant construction qualification (HNC/HND/Degree) - Desirable
