Job description:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Cook to join our dedicated team. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and preparing nutritious, delicious, and high-quality meals for our residents, catering to their individual dietary needs and preferences. You will play a vital role in enhancing the daily well-being of the people we care for.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare, cook, and serve a variety of appealing and nutritionally balanced meals for residents, taking into account special dietary requirements (e.g., diabetic, gluten-free, soft diets).
* Create and manage a four-week rolling menu, ensuring variety and resident choice.
* Maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic kitchen environment, adhering to all Food Hygiene and Health & Safety regulations.
* Manage kitchen stock, including ordering supplies, checking deliveries, and minimising waste.
* Ensure all food is stored correctly and temperature records are accurately maintained.
* Work collaboratively with care staff to understand the specific needs and preferences of our residents.
* You will be required to work one weekend in two.
* You will be required to work 10 hours per day.
Qualifications and Skills:
* Kindness and compassion are an essential part of your job role within the home.
* A relevant catering qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 2 in Cookery/Catering) is desirable but not essential.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
* A caring and empathetic nature.
* Flexible to meet the needs of the Care Home.
* A willingness to undergo further training as required.
