Leader Education are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Mentor to join our experienced and supportive team in a position.
This role is based within a well-established specialist school supporting children and young people aged 2–19 with a wide range of special educational needs, including complex learning difficulties, autism, communication needs, social, emotional and mental health needs, and physical disabilities. The school is committed to delivering inclusive, personalised, high-quality education in a safe and nurturing environment where every learner is supported to achieve their full potential.
As a Learning Mentor, you will work closely with teaching staff to provide tailored support, acting as a key adult for pupils and helping to remove barriers to learning, engagement, and wellbeing.
Responsibilities
* Provide 1:1 and small group support in line with individual education and support plans.
* Act as a positive role model, promoting independence, confidence, and resilience.
* Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils to support engagement and emotional wellbeing.
* Support the development of communication, social, and life skills.
* Implement behaviour support strategies in line with school policies.
* Provide consistent emotional support in a safe, structured, and nurturing environment.
* Help to identify and reduce barriers to learning, supporting pupils to access education effectively.
