The Team
The Employment team consists of more than qualified lawyers globally. A standout feature of the practice is the significant proportion of stand‑alone employment work, ranging from board-level strategic advice to day‑to‑day HR support. The team acts for a diverse client base, including major multinational organisations, high‑growth businesses and established national companies.
The team covers both contentious and non‑contentious matters, including:
1. Employment Tribunal litigation
2. Complex discrimination, whistleblowing, contingent worker and equal pay claims
3. Multi-jurisdictional projects
4. Corporate support work (M&A, reorganisations, outsourcing)
5. Employee relations and industrial relations advisory work
The team handles a substantial volume of Employment Tribunal claims each year and is consistently recognised for the breadth and depth of its expertise.
The Role
Our client is seeking a Senior Associate or Principal Associate with 5+ PQE to join its Employment team in Nottingham. The role would suit an experienced Employment Solicitor or Barrister with a particular interest in Employment Tribunal litigation, including advocacy.
You will work closely with Partners and senior colleagues on a wide range of complex matters across sectors such as:

7. Technology
8. Retail
9. Transport
10. Financial services
11. Education
12. Utilities
You will also play a key role in supervising more junior members of the team.
Key Responsibilities
13. Managing complex Employment Tribunal litigation
14. Delivering high‑quality strategic and operational employment law advice
15. Handling multi-jurisdictional and UK‑wide projects
16. Supporting corporate transactions with employment advice
17. Providing training and contributing to practice development initiatives
18. Supervising and developing junior team members
Skills and Experience
Our client is looking for individuals who can demonstrate:
19. Qualified Solicitor or Barrister with a minimum of 5 years’ PQE
20. Experience defending Employment Tribunal claims and undertaking advocacy
21. Excellent organisational skills and strong attention to detail
22. Ability to work independently and manage demanding workloads
23. Experience supervising junior colleagues
24. Strong communication and client-care skills
25. Ability to innovate and deliver commercial, practical solutions
26. Confidence using legal tech and digital tools
27. Experience working as part of a national or multi‑office team
