Site Manager - UK Power Networks Framework (Contract)
Locations: Houghton Regis, then Ilmer Grid (site-based)
Rate: £400 per day

Overview
An experienced Site Manager is required to work for a delivery contractor on the UK Power Networks framework, supporting the safe and efficient delivery of electrical infrastructure works. This is a contract position with an immediate start available, with initial works based at Houghton Regis, followed by a subsequent phase at Ilmer Grid.
The role will involve managing site activities on high‑voltage electrical projects, ensuring works are delivered safely, compliantly, and to programme. A strong background within a DNO or National Grid substation environment is essential.
Key Responsibilities
Day‑to‑day management of site operations on UKPN framework projects
Managing works across Houghton Regis initially, followed by Ilmer Grid
Ensuring all activities comply with UKPN standards, HSG guidance, and CDM regulations
Supervising subcontractors, operatives, and site personnel
Reviewing and implementing RAMS and safe systems of work
Managing permits, isolations, and access arrangements
Liaising with UKPN representatives, project managers, and engineers
Delivering works to programme while maintaining safety and quality standards
Conducting site inductions, toolbox talks, and safety briefings
Maintaining accurate site records and reporting on progress and incidents
Essential Experience & Background
Proven experience delivering electrical works within a HV DNO or National Grid substation environment
Experience working on projects up to 132kV
Previous experience on UK Power Networks or similar utility frameworks
Mandatory Qualifications
Candidates must hold, as a minimum:
SMSTS
3‑Day First Aid at Work
Gold CSCS Card
Manual Handling Training
Desirable / Advantageous
Current UKPN Substation Entry Authorisation (major advantage)
Strong working knowledge of UKPN procedures and asset environments

Daily Rate: £400
Engagement: CIS or Umbrella company
Duration: Ongoing works, starting at Houghton Regis, then transitioning to Ilmer Grid
Start: Immediate - client can onboard someone as early as next week
