Summary
We are seeking to appoint a HR manager will lead on all aspects of HR, ensuring that our recruitment, staffing and staff development processes are efficient, staff welfare, compliant, aligned with our school's vision and ethos. This role is pivotal in ensuring the school remains a supportive and high-performing environment for all staff, which in turn will contribute to the safeguarding and success of our students. The successful candidate will line manage the following functions: HR administration, recruitment, the SCR, staff absence procedures.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead Recruitment Excellence: Drive the end-to-end recruitment process for all staff, championing our unwavering commitment to Safer Recruitment and meticulously maintaining the Single Central Record (SCR).
• Shape Policy & Ensure Compliance: Develop, implement, and refine HR policies that reflect best practice and ensure full compliance with current employment law and KCSIE guidelines.
• Champion Staff Wellbeing: Oversee all employee relations matters, manage staff absence with empathy and efficiency, and act as a key point of contact for staff support.
• Foster Professional Growth: Manage the performance review cycle and coordinate an engaging programme of professional development, ensuring our team has the tools to succeed and grow.
• Uphold Operational Excellence: Ensure seamless, compliant, and confidential HR administration, from contract management to data protection.
Required Skills and Attributes
• Proven experience in a generalist HR role, ideally within an education or public-sector setting.
• A relevant HR qualification (CIPD Level 3 or higher), or equivalent professional experience.
• A deep understanding of UK employment law, school safeguarding practices, and safer recruitment protocols.
• Experience handling a range of employee relations issues with professionalism and integrity.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships at all levels.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office/Google Workspace and, ideally, HR management software.
