About the Role
To enable delivery of the organisational strategy for 2023-2026 and contribute to the Digital Health and Care Strategy and Data Strategy, we seek a highly skilled Data Architect to lead our data architecture. The role involves overseeing best practices and supporting technical delivery for stakeholders.
This position is responsible for leading data architecture across the organisation, ensuring best practices, processes, and solutions are utilized to meet operational and strategic needs. The post holder will ensure data systems are secure, efficient, and aligned with strategic goals, supporting the organisation's aim to be an intelligence-led entity. You will play a key role in delivering strategic objectives, working with partners on data architecture for the public sector.
Main Duties
1. Provide technical leadership: Establish and maintain data architecture best practices across agile teams, analyzing and improving existing architecture and planning future solutions.
2. Translate strategic aims: Convert organisational goals into local delivery plans, ensuring effective resource use.
3. Collaborate and problem-solve: Work with stakeholders to maximize value and align data architecture with business objectives.
4. Documentation: Maintain comprehensive data architecture documentation, including data models, flow diagrams, metadata, data lineage, dictionaries, and data catalogues.
5. Negotiation and stakeholder engagement: Facilitate negotiations across educational, healthcare, government, and social care sectors to ensure high standards and alignment with organisational and governmental aims.

* Proven track record in delivering data architecture solutions with tangible benefits.
* Experience working with multidisciplinary teams and providing expert data architecture guidance.
* Designing secure solutions compliant with GDPR and data regulations.
* Analyzing data architecture requests, assessing technical viability, and communicating effectively.
* Developing and implementing standards and best practices for data architecture and continuous improvement.
* Commitment to personal and professional development in data architecture principles.
