The Quality Manager will be responsible for providing full operational support to ensure product and process conformity across all value stream programs. The role involves developing expertise within the Quality Compliance, QCE, and Operations Inspection teams, driving ownership of processes to meet GKN and Customer requirements. The Quality Manager will also manage and improve the Business Management System (BMS) and all related assurance functions.
Job Responsibilities
1. Support manufacturing process managers and leadership in improving manufacturing processes and product quality.
2. Lead and support improvement initiatives to achieve strategic objectives.
3. Coach and identify training opportunities for team development.
4. Provide recognition and constructive feedback to enhance team performance and skills.
5. Develop and monitor KPIs related to scrap, permissions to ship, pre-release, and MBs.
6. Maintain records and updates in relevant systems, such as time and attendance.
7. Participate in Change Control Boards and Corrective Action Boards to ensure BMS compliance.
8. Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental policies.
9. Manage daily/weekly operations of the Archive and QCE departments.
10. Generate monthly operational review reports for senior management.
11. Support continuous training and process improvements within the team.
12. Ensure ongoing compliance with BMS requirements and update policies accordingly.
13. Report issues impacting approvals or product/process integrity.
Qualifications and Experience
* Experience in senior-level Quality Assurance, Compliance, or Lead auditing roles.
* Understanding of Regulatory, Customer, and Engineering requirements.
* Knowledge of standards such as AS9100, ISO9001, EASA Part 21, and 145.
* Proficiency with quality tools and continuous improvement techniques (PFMEA, SPC, APQP).
* Experience with First Article inspections and approvals.
* Familiarity with quality assurance processes, risk management, and auditing.
* Knowledge of customer quality requirements and stakeholder expectations.
* Ability to lead Root Cause Analysis sessions (RCCA/8D).
* Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Proficiency in MS Office and quality systems like TipQA, Qlik, SAP.
* Proven leadership skills in managing quality teams.
* Qualifications as an auditor or lead auditor.
* Understanding of aerospace regulatory requirements (e.g., Part 21G, Part 145, AS13100).
