Gateacre School is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Head Cook to join our dedicated catering team. Working closely with the Catering Manager, the successful candidate will play a key role in delivering a high-quality food service to our students.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about school nutrition, food preparation, and creating a positive dining experience for young people.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare, cook and serve healthy, nutritious meals for break and lunch
* Support the delivery of the school's free Magic Breakfast offer
* Assist in the smooth daily running of the school kitchen and food service
* Comply with food hygiene and health & safety standards
* Work collaboratively with the Catering Manager and wider team
Key Requirements:
* Proven experience in a catering or head cook role
* Knowledge of healthy eating standards in a school setting
* Excellent organisational and time management skills
* Food Hygiene qualification (Level 2 or above preferred)
* A strong team player with a proactive and flexible attitude
