HR Officer Grade 5 – £32,108 - £37,338 The Departments of Earth Sciences and Statistics at the University of Oxford are seeking to appoint a permanent HR Officer. Come and join two friendly, small departments and play an important role in ensuring they can deliver their world-leading research and teaching, as well as improving their resilience in the HR function. The successful post holder will support the delivery of an efficient and effective HR service for both Departments. You will take responsibility for organising and completing tasks such as recruitment, payroll changes, visa administration and staff inductions, while providing clear guidance to managers and staff on routine HR matters. You will contribute to smooth HR operations by applying knowledge of HR policies and regulations and suggesting improvements where appropriate, to ensure that the HR team deliver a professional and responsive service. You enjoy working with academics, research staff, and professional services staff, and will work to ensure both departments provide a positive, supportive and inclusive environment for all. About you You will hold or be working towards a qualification in HR or a related field (e.g. CIPD Level 3) and/or have equivalent experience, including experience of working in an HR team/role. You will be confident working independently and within a team. You will have up-to-date knowledge of UK employment law, and awareness of data protection and information security guidelines. You will enjoy providing a high level of customer service and be confident using Microsoft Office tools. You will have the ability to clearly communicate HR processes both verbally and in writing, and to prioritise your workload and produce accurate, detailed work to deadlines.
