The Deputy Head of Patient Flow & Site Management is an exciting development opportunity for a senior leader ready to step up and make an even greater impact across the Trust. In this role, you will support the smooth running of the site, help drive improvements in patient flow and play a key part in leading and developing our nursing teams. Your leadership will support us in maintaining high standards of safe, effective and patient‑centred care.
As an internal candidate, you will already understand our services, our challenges and our values. We are looking for someone who has strong leadership experience within nursing or clinical operations and who is confident in driving change and supporting teams through busy and complex situations. You will bring a clear commitment to excellent patient care, strong professional judgement and the communication, organisational and problem‑solving skills needed to influence and inspire others.

1. Support the Head of Patient Flow & Site Management in delivering exceptional standards of care across the organisation.
2. Lead and inspire nursing teams to ensure patient flow is effective, safe and responsive.
3. Champion high-quality, accessible care that meets the needs of every patient.
4. Promote a culture of continuous improvement, professional development and compassionate leadership.
5. Ensure that our services run smoothly through strong, decisive operational management.

Qualifications & Training
Essential criteria
6. Professional Clinical Qualification - registered professional with a clinical regulatory body
7. Relevant degree
8. Masters degree or equivalent level of skill acquired through experience
9. Formal teaching and assessing award
10. Evidence of ongoing relevant professional development
11. Formal management qualification or equivalent level of skill acquired through experience
Experience and Knowledge
Essential criteria
12. Relevant experience in management at Band 8a or above
13. Understanding of topical issues
14. Proven record of successfully implementing change
15. Demonstrable understanding and experience of management, and handling of data and information
16. Budgetary management
17. Understanding and experience of clinical governance and quality management
18. Proven experience of leading and delivering the patient safety agenda
19. Ability and willingness to travel to all sites within the organisation
Desirable criteria
20. Awareness of political and professional agenda in nursing and NHS management
21. Demonstrable awareness of national professional and educational issues
22. Community Services experience
