We are working with a number of specialist schools across Winchester and the surrounding areas, looking for compassionate, resilient individuals to join as Learning Mentors on both flexible and long‑term assignments. No previous school experience is required; what matters most is the ability to build trust, stay calm under pressure, and support young people who may need additional emotional or behavioural guidance.
We will provide training, ongoing support, and the opportunity to gain school experience before stepping fully into the role. As a Learning Mentor, you will play a key role in helping students feel supported, understood, and able to engage in learning.
Responsibilities
* Support students with additional emotional or behavioural needs (often SEMH)
* Help young people manage emotions and overcome daily challenges
* Build positive, consistent relationships with students
* Work closely with teachers, SEN staff and pastoral teams
* Provide encouragement, structure and reassurance throughout the school day
Ideal Candidate
* Experience supporting young people in any capacity, such as sports coaches, psychology graduates, youth workers, support workers, or individuals from care or mentoring backgrounds.
* Patient, approachable, emotionally resilient and able to build rapport.
