Responsibilities
* Lead by example on Health & Safety, ensuring the company's PROUD values are visible across all site activities.
* Manage daily transfer station operations, including Supervisors, Operatives and Chemists, to ensure safe, compliant and efficient performance.
* Ensure all activities meet company standards, including ISO, BMS and IMS requirements.
* Work collaboratively with the General Manager, Divisional Director and commercial teams to deliver operational objectives.
* Drive continuous improvement across site operations, efficiency, reporting, documentation and performance controls.
* Support budget and forecast reviews by monitoring performance, identifying opportunities and implementing improvement actions.
Essential skills
* Solid experience in waste, transfer station, plant, process or similar operational environments.
* Strong operational leadership experience, including managing site-based teams.
* Relevant operational, technical or safety qualification, such as WAMITAB COTC, IOSH, NEBOSH, ADR, DGSA or HNC-level qualification in a chemistry-related subject.
* Good understanding of operational performance, process improvement and efficiency.
* Commercial awareness and understanding of cost control.
* Confident user of Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Outlook, Word and PowerPoint.
* Strong communicator, able to build relationships across all levels.
* Analytical, proactive and comfortable making sound decisions.
Desirable
* Working knowledge or hands-on experience of SAP.
* Experience within a regulated, compliance-led or ISO-accredited environment.
* Experience supporting budget, forecast or operational performance reviews.
* Ability to link site operations with wider business priorities.
