Job Title: Cook – Care Home Location: Wrexham Duration: Ongoing Schedule: Full-time or part-time (flexible shifts available) Start Date: ASAP Rate of Pay: £11 to £13 per hour (depending on experience) Contact: Eric Lopes – / What You’ll Be Doing: As a Cook in a care home, you’ll play a vital role in supporting residents’ health and wellbeing by preparing fresh, nutritious meals that meet a variety of dietary needs. Your responsibilities will include: Preparing and cooking meals for residents, including modified diets (e.g. pureed, diabetic, low-sodium) Ensuring high standards of food hygiene and cleanliness at all times Managing stock levels and ordering supplies as needed Working with care staff to understand individual dietary requirements Creating a welcoming, respectful kitchen environment for residents and staff Requirements & Qualifications: To succeed in this role, you’ll need: Proven experience as a cook, ideally in a care home, hospital, or similar environment Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 2 minimum preferred) An understanding of dietary needs for older adults and vulnerable individuals Ability to work independently and maintain kitchen standards without supervision Compassion, patience, and a respectful approach to residents’ dignity and preferences Working Hours & Contract Duration: This role offers flexibility with full-time and part-time hours available. Shifts are typically Monday to Sunday, on a rota, with some weekend work required. This is an ongoing contract with strong potential for long-term placement. Ready to apply?
