The team are looking for a Windows Desktop Developer and welcomes returners to apply for this permanent open role. A successful returner candidate, who has had a career break of 12 months or more (as of February 2025), will receive coaching support through the transition period from Career Returners. This career break may have been for childcare, eldercare, relocation or other reasons. You may have been working on a small-scale basis to fit around other commitments, or not done any paid work for several years. About the Role Windows Desktop Developer – HR and Payroll Engineering team The team are responsible for building and maintaining Sage HR and Payroll products. They drive innovation in automation, compliance and user experience. The products serve over 7,500 customers and maintain a leading position in the market. Alongside the maintenance of the products, the team also drives new developments as part of the product roadmap. You’ll be joining a team of highly capable engineers who really care about what they do and thrive on collaboration and working as an Agile team to achieve amazing solutions to everyday business needs. *As per the Sage hybrid work arrangement, you will be required to work out of the Newcastle office 3 days per week.* Key Responsibilities What will you be involved in? • Successfully developing, delivering, and maintaining high-quality desktop software. • Partnering with Solution Designers early in the design process to ensure the product is flexible, scalable, and resilient. • Collaborate across teams, including product management, QA/XD, various product lines, and business units, to drive results. • Automation of tasks through appropriate tools and scripting. • Identifying and resolving performance issues to ensure optimal application efficiency and scalability.
