Site Manager – Newport Cold Store
We have an exciting opportunity at our Newport Cold Store for a Site Manager to join our busy team. This is a full‑time position, working between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend work required to meet demand.
Site Operations
* Plan delivery and dispatch of products when required by customers.
* Work with the warehouse supervisor to organise the team’s workload and conduct daily briefings to allocate tasks to individuals.
* Ensure all products are stored safely in the correct locations.
* Liaise with customers, Group Operations Management, and other relevant parties to ensure everyone is fully informed of any issues.
* Ensure all equipment is properly maintained and daily check sheets are completed.
* Keep the warehouse and chambers clear, clean and tidy, and work efficiently.
* Recommend and implement system or operational upgrades and improvements.
* Utilise all space effectively and reduce wastage.
* Monitor service levels.
* Record and report H&S incidents in line with procedures.
* Monitor the chambers' temperature app and report any issues to Group Operations Management and Maintenance.
* Report and complete site maintenance works.
* Maintain a full stock of cleaning and catering supplies.
Managing Your Team
* Lead and manage all warehouse and site office employees.
* Ensure sufficient staffing levels at all times and cover the site office when colleagues are absent.
* Manage sickness and other absences, ensuring documentation and meetings are completed within set timescales.
* Recruit for the site to meet demand within budget, including interviewing, onboarding and conducting inductions.
* Lead investigations and other formal meetings as required.
* Report employee hours to the payroll team.
* Ensure colleague concerns are dealt with efficiently and respectfully, reporting issues to the Group Operations Director as necessary.
General
* Take responsibility for your own health & safety and that of others.
* Maintain compliance with the Group’s policies and procedures at all times.
* Maintain confidentiality and observe data protection and associated guidance where appropriate.

Qualifications and Experience
* At least 3 years of experience in a site supervisory or management role.
* REACH, Truck, PPT, and Counterbalance licences and experience are desirable but not essential.
* Interpersonal skills, including the ability to encourage good performance and handle underperformers.
* Willingness to have difficult conversations with colleagues and customers in a constructive manner.
Other
* Flexible with an ability to work outside office hours when required.
* Full and valid driving licence and use of a vehicle.
