Shireland Biomedical UTC is one of the first UTCs in the country with a healthcare specialism, catering for Y7‑Y13. We opened our doors in September 2022 with 120 students and are growing to full capacity of 750 students by 2026.
Pay and Working Hours
Salary: Band E SCP 18‑25 (Actual Salary £29,474‑£34,964 per annum)
Hours: 37 hours per week, some evening/academy events, term time + 3 weeks.
Location: Shireland Biomedical UTC.
Required to start as soon as possible.
Role Overview
The postholder will manage the catering facilities within the Academy to provide students, staff and visitors with value‑for‑money meals of a high standard. They will create a new and varied menu to enhance the lunchtime experience of all students, provide catering for extended school activities, academy events and meetings, and continually improve the quality of food and service. They will ensure compliance with food hygiene regulations, Health and Safety, COSH regulations and risk management.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide management of the catering facilities within the Academy.
* Create a new and varied menu which will enhance the lunchtime experience of all our students.
* Provide catering to support extended school activities, academy events and meetings.
* Strive for continual improvement of the quality of food and service.
* Ensure compliance with the requirements of food hygiene regulations, Health and Safety, COSH regulations and risk management.
Qualifications and Experience
* Experience of working in a high‑volume catering environment.
* Experience managing a team of staff.
* Must have an Enhanced Disclosure (DBS) and Children’s Barred List check.
