We're looking for a Library Sales Executive to join our supportive, dynamic, and collaborative UK Library Sales team. In this role, you will sell digital products and services—including eBooks, textbooks, and journals—to UK universities, working closely with academic librarians to understand institutional needs and recommend effective solutions. The position is hybrid, requiring 40‑60 % of time at a dedicated location, and includes travel across the UK to meet customers, attend conferences, and represent Cambridge University Press & Assessment.
Responsibilities
* Use excellent communication skills to develop and maintain good customer relationships and acquire new customers.
* Manage a pipeline of opportunities in the territory, retaining regular business and building new business.
* Achieve and exceed sales targets for the list of UK universities assigned to the role.
* Attend regular internal meetings, contribute to marketing campaigns, and share market intelligence from customer meetings.
* Travel to the territory and represent Cambridge at customer meetings (in person or via video call), conferences, and industry events, ensuring travel stays within expenditure budgets.
* Acquire a good working knowledge of complex academic products and services for institutions.
* Negotiate and finalize agreements with customers.
Qualifications
* Commercially minded sales experience with a creative approach to selling and problem solving.
* Strong ability to build lasting customer relationships and adapt messaging to different audiences.
* Highly organized, self‑motivated, and able to plan and prioritize workload independently.
* Experience selling journals, books, and textbooks is desirable.
* Understanding of the higher education system and marketplace is desirable.
