Overview
Join Bellway Homes as a Senior Site Manager in our Wales Division. The role reports to the Senior Construction Manager and is responsible for managing all aspects of a construction development site, ensuring safe, efficient and cost‑effective works while maintaining high quality and customer service within the given timescales.
Location
Blackthorn Walk, Hunts Grove, Hardwicke, Gloucester, GL2 4EE.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage the day‑to‑day running of the development and provide clear direction to site staff regarding responsibilities and targets.
* Implement health and safety procedures in close partnership with Bellway Health and Safety Managers.
* Motivate, support and manage directly employed site staff, delivering toolbox talks, training, coaching and performance support.
* Maintain site presentation to the required standard.
* Deliver all aspects of production in strict accordance with technical and planning documentation and subsequent instructions.
* Fully conform to building regulations and warranty providers’ requirements such as NHBC and LABC Services.
* Ensure accurate production/progress returns are updated and sent to the Construction Manager or Construction Director as requested.
* Maintain site records, including site manager reports, labour requirements, plant, materials, site inductions and health and safety records.
* Thoroughly inspect and ensure remedial work is completed before each NHBC key stage inspection.
Experience, Qualifications and Skills
* Experience as a Site Manager or Senior Site Manager with a high‑volume residential house builder.
* Desirable experience working with timber frame.
* Effective management of teams.
* Up‑to‑date knowledge of health and safety and building legislation.
* GCSE Maths and English – Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent).
* Valid CSCS card at Site Manager level.
* Valid SMSTS certificate.
* Valid First Aid certificate.
* Construction Management – HNC Level 4, HND Level 5 or NVQ Level 6 desirable.
* Valid Scaffold Appreciation certificate desirable.
* Valid LOLER certificate desirable.
* Effective communication and listening skills.
* Good administration skills.
* Ability to meet deadlines and work on multiple tasks simultaneously.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Proficient IT skills and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
