I am currently working with an ambitious and growing Hospitality business entering an exciting new phase. As part of this growth, they are bringing their payroll function in-house and are looking for a Payroll & HR Administrator to take ownership of this transition and help shape their people processes for the future.
This is a standalone role, ideal for someone who enjoys responsibility, thrives on organisation, and wants to play a key role in building efficient payroll and HR systems within a growing company.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll be responsible for setting up and managing the new in-house payroll system, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time, while also supporting a range of HR administrative activities.
Payroll responsibilities
1. Lead the transition from an outsourced payroll provider to an in-house system
2. Implement and manage the company’s payroll process
3. Process payroll accurately and in line with HMRC requirements
4. Maintain payroll records, deductions and statutory payments
5. Handle payroll queries from employees and managers
6. Produce payroll and workforce reports
7. Ensure payroll compliance and accurate record keeping
HR responsibilities
8. Prepare employment contracts and offer letters
9. Manage new starter onboarding and documentation
10. Maintain employee records and HR systems
11. Produce reports on rotas, timekeeping, holidays and absence
12. Support managers with HR administration and compliance
13. Assist with employee relations administration when required
About you
14. Previous experience in payroll or payroll administration
15. Ideally some experience supporting HR administration
16. Comfortable working independently in a standalone role
17. Highly organised with strong attention to detail
18. Confident working with payroll systems and reports
19. Enjoys building processes and improving systems
